As a recently retired coloring contest enthusiast, I began re-exploring the world of art. Being a native of Santa Cruz, I continue to find myself inspired by the natural beauty our county has to offer. From the beautiful coastline to the floral meadows, my work showcases these unique settings.
My idea of “Ocean Aquatic themed work” is an expression of the life I envision: Colorful, inspired, & unique. I believe that Art in its form and color can hold a powerful place in our world.
With a mix of oil pastel, acrylic paint, and Chinese paper cutting/window flower artwork, I give my own spin as a mixed media abstract artist.
My main art influence and instruction was from my grandmother, Gladys, who nurtured a love and admiration of art that I possess to this day. In turn I do my best to act as a positive role model to encourage creative artistic expression among my four children and granddaughter.
It brings me great joy to be able to create an artistic vision enjoyed by all, and viewed with a smile!
I also love sharing the joy of art with other people by fundraising for special community causes including the following: Hospice, Pajaro Valley Unified School District, Rio Del Mar Elementary, Valencia Elementary, Capitola Jr. Guards, Jay Paddle Board Races, B.A.C.A - Bikers Against Child Abuse, and Resurrection Catholic Church. I also volunteer as an art instructor at my children's elementary school.
Thank you for taking a moment to view my life's work in progress.
